Usually ships in 1-2 business days | | | | | | The iLok2 from Pace is smaller, stronger, customizable, and has a much higher capacity than the original making this portable software license solution better than ever before. iLok 2 is small enough that you can fit two of them side by side in adjacent USB ports, and the sturdier USB connector and solid body makes each one tough enough for constant usage. Best of all, thanks to the latest in technology, the smaller iLok can now hold over 500 software license authorization while allowing you to add a custom label under the protective sleeve so you know more which iLok is which. iLok2 is also compatible with the original. You can download any licenses that are available for download in your iLok com account to your new iLok. The new iLok is backward-compatible and except for the License Card slot, does everything the original iLok does. You can also move your licenses from an original iLok to a new iLok in your account with the iLok com Move Licenses utility, subject to software publisher restrictions. The iLok2 is also fashionable with a sleek black design and cool blue LED to let you know when it's in use.Smaller design allows 2 iLok 2's to fit side by side in adjacent USB ports | | | |

Better than the original Jun 25, 2011
By Kenneth R. Muse This iLok is a significant improvement over the original version. While the first generation iLoks could only store about 115 licenses, the new iLok can store somewhere around 500. The blue LED gives it a modern feel; I didn't find it especially distracting. The iLok has a clear cover in the middle that snaps off and allows you to label the iLok. The size is noticeably smaller than the original version and no longer blocks any adjacent USB ports.
Two minor issues. First, the protective cap does not attach to the iLok when the device is in use. If you remove the cap, make sure you remember where you placed it. The second possible issue is that if you do not download the current version of both the drivers and client tools, it won't recognize the iLok correctly. This means that it will display like an original iLok with the reduced license count. If you aren't able to add your licenses, make sure you install the latest drivers and restart your computer.

Cool Apr 02, 2011
By Bryanknight Not much you can really review about an iLok. It works.....it looks cool.....it hold way more authorizations that the older iLok......and it only takes up one slot on a laptop.....what else can I say??? I got it for Pro Tools 9 and haven't been disappointed.

its ok but time will tell Dec 11, 2011
By kishore ok, by now u already know all the complaints against an ilok.
personally, i didnt find it too difficult to register & use my software.
i know it hurts when u pay $1000 for a software & they make u pay additional
$50 just to use what u've legally purchased, but i understand the rampant
software piracy on torrents.
i was able to easily authorize my east west libraries with this ilok.
m running it on a usb hub without any problems. of course, a pen drive
is very easy to lose & i shudder when i hear stories of people losing
their iloks & going thru all kinds of s%&^ to get a replacement, but i hope
that never happens to me. apparently, thats when u run into the nasty side
of ilok support. i truly hate the fact u've to pay additional money even
for downtime protection. if i've paid for something, even if i lose it,
i should get a free replacement. apparently, the people at ilok dont understand
this at all. they charge u extra money for a replacement. clearly, an ilok
is nothing more than a cheap pen drive, $50 for this is ridiculous but i grumbled
& had no other way to use the east west library.

Translation to English of the purported "benefits" of the iLok2 Dec 29, 2011
By Dave Peck ....... "The iLok USB Hardware Key is a device that holds authorization
....... licenses and connects via the USB port to your computer."
You're a criminal.
....... "It's Portable: iLok enables you to easily move authorizations
....... from one computer to another. Use your software at home,
....... at the office, at a studio, or at a friend's house. iLok makes
....... it portable."
We'll happily sell you another when you inevitably lose this one.
....... "It's Safe: Authorizations are stored in the secure iLok USB
....... hardware key -- not on the computer or hard drive. iLok
....... is immune to problems caused by machine upgrades,
....... disk maintenance, hardware failures, and software updates."
Your $2,500 laptop is garbage. Trust our $40 USB dongle instead.
....... "It's Convenient: Store all of your iLok-enabled software
....... authorizations on a single iLok USB hardware key,
....... regardless of developer."
You only own one piece of software that requires iLok, but you'll have to install it anyway. Setup takes just an hour and only requires us to install a kernel extension, a browser plug-in, and a user-space daemon, all of which probably compromise your machine's security and stability in ways we could care less about because at least our software is safe.
Also: bend over. You're a criminal.

Small, Convenient, Great Quality Mar 10, 2011
By Reynaldo Arma
"Arma"
had no issues with this item. Looks way better and it's much smaller than its predecessor. As soon as i got on iLok.com my ilok 2 was quickly and easily registered and transferred my licenses with ease. Definitely recommend to buy! You won't find it cheaper anywhere else including the shipping.
